Growing up the youngest of 7 in a competitive household I always found solace and a friend in Nature.
Nature has forever been a place I could tap into my own inner medicine, my inner vision and intuition.  
Unbeaten Path Tours & Yoga is the extension of all this.  ​Our work is about sharing what our passions invoke in us and

Margaret and her husband are both  former corporate business professionals with backgrounds in Hi-Tech, Bio-Tech and Architecture.  Margaret's passion for Biomimicry and learning from the systems & models of Nature and Architecture inspired her to carry this dialog into her yogic practice and into the field of Connecting People to Place by creating Unbeaten Path Tours in 2011.  Margaret is now a Naturalist, a Citizen Scientist with the Greater Farallones Marine Sanctuary, Yoga Instructor, regional historian and an ever loving student of being in Nature.   

Margaret's husband and Unbeaten Path Partner is Phil Newbury. Born and raised in London, Phil spent many years in Chicago and now feels right at home along the "Scottish Coast" of California.   When he is not in the field assisting tours and workshops, he runs the library as well as the STEM and Lego robotics programs for Horicon elementary school and community outreach programs. 

Margaret hails from New England, Rhode Island: the Biggest Little State in the Union! and spent several years in Northern Maine as well as Salzburg, Austria, which she holds dear to her heart.

Margaret's PERSONAL unbeaten path

Growing up the youngest of 7 siblings in a competitive household, I found solace and a place in Nature.  Nature was a friend and teacher that would stay with me into adulthood as I pursued my education and career. Despite this, it was clear something was missing in the translation of my successes. After a whole lot of contemplation, my husband and I decided to sell it all for a better quality of life and moved to the The Sea Ranch, CA,(Sonoma Coast) in 2007.

With good fortune, I found work in my field within the architectural review department of The Sea Ranch Association, which further deepened my passion for The Sea Ranch's architectural and landscape philosophies and their relationship to personal development and perspective.  In 2011, I started Unbeaten Path Tours & Yoga, with a mission to create inclusive narratives enjoyable for all, from novice to expert, on a multitude of subjects.  This is where blazing my Unbeaten Path all began.
