Marg Lindgren & Phil Newbury

Margaret and Phil are both former corporate business professionals with backgrounds in Hi-Tech and Architecture.  Margaret's passion for Biomimicry and learning from the systems & models of Nature (and Architecture!) inspired her to carry this dialog into her yogic practice and into the field of Connecting People to Place by creating Unbeaten Path Tours in 2011.  Margaret is now a Naturalist, a Citizen Scientist with the Greater Farallones Marine Sanctuary, Yoga Instructor, regional historian and an ever loving student of being in Nature.
Visiting here I had so many questions and was always profoundly moved by the region's beauty and wildlife. I felt connected and a part of something whole and everlasting and I wanted to share this Experience of Place with others. I couldn't contain the joy of it! That is how Unbeaten Path came to be - by blazing the way to share this feeling.
- Margaret Lindgren, founder Unbeaten Path Tours
Margaret's husband and Unbeaten Path Partner is Phil Newbury. Born and raised in London, Phil spent many years in Chicago and now feels right at home along the "Scottish Coast" of California.   When he is not in the field assisting tours and workshops, he runs the library as well as the STEM and Lego robotics programs for Horicon elementary school and community outreach programs.

Margaret hails from New England, Rhode Island: the Biggest Little State in the Union! and spent several years in Northern Maine as well as Salzburg, Austria, which she holds dear to her heart.

Their philosophy is simple:  Bring life to it's most uncomplicated and natural form by doing what you love, sharing your passions to inspire and supporting local business so that each and every community (no matter how small) thrives."

We are also certified PUG ADDICTS!

PUG UPDATE TO THE ABOVE INFORMATION

It was to our greatest sadness that our beloved Mr. Knuckles passed on.  You can read our tribute to this loving lunk of a pug here
To carry on the pug saving tradition, we rescued a boy pug from San Diego Pug Rescue (one of the best pug rescue organizations around!).  His name is Cholly (Charlie) and he has warmed our hearts.  We visit Knuckle's grave often when we hike and Bubble rolls happily in his place while Cholly chases her.   We will also be taking in another rescue soon, Sir Kendrick (AKA Mister Pister!).  See Cholly and Kendrick's Pictures below with more info.  If you can, rescue an animal.  They are forever grateful and the most loving of creatures to have in your life! A true gift.

MEET CHOLLY, the pug monster!

This is CHOLLY - one of the most loving guys.  He was abandoned at a mall and had pretty bad mange.  He was fostered by loving people and was medically treated successfully for his mange.  Cholly loves to hike and can go for MILES! He runs as fast as he can with great exuberance! He makes us laugh each and every day and we are so fortunate to have him in our lives.  Thank you Cholly!  Knuckles would be proud!

Sir KENDRICK of the PUGSHIRE

This is Kendrick.  He is a young pug pup whose jaw was questionably broken when he was relinquished by the owner to be euthanized for his injuries. This is where Pug Rescue of San Diego County and the veterinarians at San Diego Bay Animal Hospital came to the rescue.  They fixed his jaw through an innovative procedure and was fitted with a surgical muzzle for 2 months.  It was a very difficult recovery but he is now living in Northern California and happy as can be with his big brother and sister.  He is truly the face of PUG RESCUE and now has a dedicated following of almost 1300 followers on his very own Facebook Page KENDRICK THE PUG. You can also see his story via a San Diego NBC news story (yes, that's right) by clicking here
