“Each one of us can make a contribution. Too frequently we think we have to do spectacular things. Yet if we remember that the sea is actually made up of drops of water and each drop counts, each one of us can do our little bit where we are. Those little bits can come together and almost overwhelm the world. Each one of us can be an oasis of peace. ~ Desmond Tutu

No Matter the weather, Unbeaten Path offers hiking trail combinations for the best experience. We love all the seasons here in Northern California. Winter can prove to be a special time to take advantage of our trail options. When the winds blow we can walk amongst the protection of the redwoods with great coastal views or combine it with a quiet walk along the river. And when it is calm and sunny we have the beaches to ourselves as we watch the crab fishermen set their pots and fish the coast (and usually we can go into town and get some fresh crab on the weekends as a double bonus)! This weekend - we hit the beach and walked the quiet solitude of the river for a great combo-hike! See the Gualala River Bluff Tour for more! Or other options as well!
Today's Bluff Trail Hike - with Rain in the air.... makes all the difference! No Rain: No Gain! The Sea Stacks you see in this photo - the rocky out-croppings you see along the coast - were once part of the coastal meadows ... in time the ocean's work wore away the Earth and the "stuff" that didn't erode remained ...
