Turn the page of our inner journal and open yourself to a blank new freedom
In our last Moon series email we touched upon the Aries New Moon and how manifesting intention takes PURPOSE, PRACTICE, PREPARATION and PERSISTENCE! It begged the question of us "Who Am I?"
Today's BELTANE (Gaelic May Day) Scorpio Full Moon is about the intentions from the last new moon taking form. This brooding, deep and penetrating Scorpio moon awakens within us those things we must be willing to let go of in order to realize our goals. Scorpio represents our inner current, our inner reality and this full moon, along with its other astrological line-ups, can help us shape how we manifest our outer reality.
When Scorpio is your moon sign these words come to mind: Intense, devoted, purposeful and persevering. A Scorpio Moon sign person likes everything that is strong (we're talking super concentrated) and powerful, they hate being exposed or overpowered AND they adore hot water - I know this because my moon sign happens to be Scorpio. This intensity, from a personal perspective, used to scare me and often I stuffed that deep current within me even deeper. But I found that I often compromised myself and who I am because it was easier to avoid the tough questions within or to hide my intuitive drive that often made others uncomfortable.
About 6 years ago (2012), however, there was a shift within me and I began to shake hands with my inner pulse and drive. It's been 6 years of hard work and doing - and today's Scorpio Full Moon is awakening further opportunity to take form because it is the inner conflict within that can be the exact thing we need in order to motivate change within us. It's where ENOUGH becomes ENOUGH and we take a big long look in the mirror.
This may not seem like much of a cozy, full moon feeling because energy like this can skew our reality. It may make us feel vulnerable, exposed ... but we must be careful about contracting from these feelings. The truth is that when inner conflict like this can be balanced with a neutral heart (and mind) they can bring forth magical beauty, powerful wisdom and defining grace. This is the perfect time to practice Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Mantra! because Kundalini can help us balance these difficult energies within us and around us. Kundalini yoga is, to me, the yoga of extension and "extension" is the beautiful balance of duality - of light and dark, of negative and positive, of ying and yang.
Use the opportunity of this Full Moon to help reveal whatever is impeding you from moving forward. The truth is that these feelings can help compel us to change our self-sabotaging ways (we all have 'em) and by doing so we can set ourselves free from repeating crappy patterns that get in the way of all those good intentions, perseverance and persistence.
Our efforts in this may make us uncomfortable for some time to come. However, I see this as a time to turn the page of our inner journaland open ourselves to a blank new freedom. It is a time to be honest with ourselves, to let our emotion communicate the truth of what we must embrace to uplift our inner reality. 'tis a bit unnerving for sure but that is the best part - delving into your next chapter!
It's interesting that today's Scorpio Full Moon falls on the 29th. In tantric numerology that is an 11. Which represents great internal conflict because you want to be the complete master of yourself but you just you can't see how to do it. 11 also represents Scorpio. So, we can either take the negative path of that inner conflict and remain in self doubt and shame OR WE CAN RISE LIKE THE PHOENIX and be radiant. And the only way we can master this is to surrender to the forces that turn the planets and creates the Sun. It is to know that the Universe has our back, to relate to the infinite teacher within ourselves and to shake hands with your inner wisdom because, ultimately, it is the Universe within you that taps you on the shoulder. Embrace it and let it guide you.
So how do we go about finding balance during this weird and exciting time? Come to class! and listen to Sada Sat Kaur's Guru Guru Wahe Guru (her mantra Masala album). I play this often in class and during our Green Energy class. Meditate on this or chant this mantra and it will help strengthen the neutral mind. To balance your Radiant Body (11) - you can listen to Sada Sat Kaur's version of the Mul Mantra (which we will do in class as well). Working the lungs and bloodstream will also help to balance the Radiant Body and we are always working this in some way during class. Lastly - in ode to the special moon - I wrote this poem this morning. The moon was so beautiful last night. I hope each of you will take a moment to step out and see it, thank it and bless it.
I stand before your light My shadow cast I listen to the breath of a nearby animal
The pouring of my soul like the spanning roots of the redwood grove My Will webs wide
Your mist shifts my image Your vines tighten My pulse runs deep Pulled by your compass
